Tips for Growing Super Long Nails
Have you ever wondered how the ladies with super long nails do it? With all that needs to get done in a day, how do they manage to keep their nails long, strong, and looking fabulous? It requires effort to get and keep them that way, and they certainly didn’t grow to that length overnight. If you want tips to try and grow your own super long nails, keep reading for some that may be able to help you.
Your nails can crack, chip, and do a whole host of things you’re probably not pleased with, but moisturizing can help combat that. You’re going to want to moisturize daily, especially after your hands get wet such as after a shower and after you do the dishes.
Don’t Pick, Bite, or Peel
One of the worst things you can do to your nails is to pick at, bite, or peel them. It’s a habit that’s a must to break. Not only is breaking the habit going to help you increase your chances of growing super long nails, but it’s also going to make them look better in the process.
Whether you’re going out in the cold, cleaning the house, gardening, or washing the dishes, wear gloves as much as possible when you’re doing anything that could damage your nails. Wearing them may take some getting used to, but when you notice that your nails are getting longer and stronger, you’re going to be happy you opted to do so.
Take Care of Your Cuticles
Your cuticles are so important to your nail health, and they actually serve as a barrier to help prevent bacteria from making their way into the base of the nail area. With that said, don’t remove your cuticles during a manicure and don’t bite or pick at them. If you really don’t want them very visible, use a cuticle pusher to lightly push them back. Also, maintain them by using a cuticle oil.
Don’t Take Unnecessary Risks
We’ve all taken unnecessary risks with our nails and—at some point—ended up breaking one or two. For example, maybe you tried to open a cardboard box with your nails or open a soda can. However, taking these risks isn’t doing your nails any good, so before you go to use your nails as some type of tool, opt to use real tools instead.
Revamp Your Diet
It’s pretty amazing how big of a part your diet plays on your entire body, including on your nails. Foods that include leafy greens, fish, and lean poultry could do great things for your body, so do what you can to eat more of a healthy diet and incorporate good-for-you foods on a daily basis.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask your manicurist or doctor depending on what the situation calls for. It’s better to ask and get an answer rather than wonder what to do. You don’t want to take chances with your nails, not just in regards to growing them super long, but also for your health.
