Without further ado, read through the holiday beauty tips below and get ready to look better than ever this season for every holiday dinner, secret Santa party, and cocktail hour that you attend.

Flakes Are For Snow, Not Skin
The harsh winter weather can take a toll on the condition of your skin; whipping winds and dry air are known to leave even – the most moisturized – complexions feeling dry, chapped, and flaky. Not only is this uncomfortable, but it is also impossible to hide with makeup. In addition to your regular moisture routine, you can amp up your skin’s moisture by swapping from a powder to a liquid foundation. Go one step further by creating a mixture of one part foundation, one part moisturizer. This will provide you with the coverage you want and the moisture you need.

Long Lasting Lips
With all the friends and family you have to catch up with, holiday parties tend to further into the night than typical gatherings. While it’s great to catch up with everyone, one downside to these long-lasting get-togethers is that even the most hi-quality lipstick tends to wear before the night is over. One little-known trick to make lipstick last all night long is to line and fill your entire lip with a lip liner that matches the lipstick you’ll be applying. Then, use a brush to blend the lipstick over the liner.

Soft Hands
Isn’t it the worst when you finally meet your cousin’s boyfriend (the one that the whole family has been gushing about all year) and you feel embarrassed after shaking his hand because you know how dry yours felt. Sure, it happens to everyone, but you don’t want to become known as “the one with the man hands.” Luckily, you can prep your paws for the upcoming meet and greets by giving them some extra TLC. This tip may be more of a beauty remedy, but you’ll thank us. Start by creating your own luxurious hand scrub, by mixing one part brown sugar and one part olive oil. Run your hands under warm water for a few minutes to soften up the skin, then scoop the scrub into the palms of your hands and massage it into your palms, fingers, tops of your hands, and even your wrists; you’ll want to do this for about 5-10 minutes. Go ahead and rinse the scrub off, then slather on a nourishing hand cream, followed by a healing ointment (such as Vaseline or Aquaphor). Now, slip your hands into plastic gloves, or even an extra grocery bag, then put on large winter gloves or mittens. Allow yourself some time to Netflix binge while the heat from your body allows your hands to absorb all the moisture before removing the gloves and plastic.
