Ideas For Adding Vibrant Color To Lower Lids
While the minimalist makeup craze of nudes and beiges is still trending, the beauty world is embracing a new fad these days: adding a pop of color to one’s look with vibrant shades on the lower eyelids! If you scroll through you check into your social media accounts as much as we do, you’ve probably already noticed this popular trend flooding your social media feed! The idea of sporting a brightly colored lower lid conjunction with otherwise neutral makeup can seem a bit intimidating. So, we’ve put together list to inspire and encourage you to give the trend a chance!
Multicolored Lower Lids
For this look you’ll a total of three different colored liners. Feel free to play around with different shades that you like best, but if you’re unsure we suggest the shades of dark green, medium blue, and plum. After you’ve applied your face makeup, go ahead and dust a neutral shade of shadow on your top lids. Now, looking straight into the mirror you’ll add color to your lower lid by lining your lower lash line. It’s important to keep your gaze straight-on to ensure that the finished look is symmetrical between both eyes. Starting with the green liner, add color from the outer corner of the lid to the area of the lid where the iris (the colored part of your eye) begins. Next, apply the blue colored liner along the center of lash line so that it’s underlining the iris. Finally, apply the plum colored liner along the lash line where the iris ends all the way to the inner corner of the eye. If you’re going for a smoky look, apply the liner just a bit heavy, then use a smudging tool to blend and smudge the liner. Finish the look with a coat of mascara and some setting spray.
Sea and Sand Lids
Those of you who love the beach will love this look! You’ll need aqua/teal colored liner and shadow, as well as a peach colored shadow—it may look best with non-matte colors. Once you’ve applied your face makeup, apply the peach shadow to your upper lid (this is the “sand” part of the look). Now line your lower lash line with the teal liner, be sure to bring the color all the way from the outer corner of lids to the inner corner. With a heavy hand, use a small shadow brush to apply the aqua colored shadow along the outer area of the lower lash line. You can bring the look to the next level by applying black liner to the upper lids and swiping on a few coats of mascara to your upper and lower lashes.
This look is a bit bolder than the first two, but for those of you who like simple glamorous looks, we think you’ll love this one! You’ll need a few matte nude shadows for a simple upper lid, as well as black liner and mascara, and matching liner and mascara in your choice of color. After you’ve applied your face makeup and added the slighted bit of depth to your upper lid, line the upper lash line with the colored liner. Then, apply a few heavy coats of the black mascara to your upper lashes. Next, line your lower lash line with black liner. Finally, apply colored liner your lower lashes!
