There is just something about the salt water that gives you amazing hair. All you have to do for amazing beach-y waves that last from the second your foot touches the sand, to the moment the sun sets, is get there and enjoy all that the shores have to offer – seriously! Now there is a disclaimer here: for those ladies with mid to long length hair, who enjoy getting in the water and don’t mind the wind tossing the tresses from time to time, you will have no problem getting those perfect beach-y waves.
However, some of you might cringe at the thought of your hair blowing around, but have no fear, there is a Princess Ariel approved beach ‘do that will work for you too! It is the fishtail-wrapped ponytail. What you’re going to do for this beach beautiful look is pull your hair back into a ponytail, but before you wrap your elastic around it, take out about ¼ of the hair (either from behind your ear or under the ponytail). Now you can go ahead and wrap the elastic around the original ponytail. With the section of hair that you just pulled out, go ahead and create a fishtail, as tight or as loose as you’d like, and secure the very end of that with a small clear elastic. Finally, go ahead and wrap the fishtail around the elastic of the original pony, and secure it with bobby pins.
But only if you feel comfortable. If you just can’t seem to find a swimsuit that fits you right, or just aren’t comfortable, there is nothing wrong with wearing your favorite pair of cut-off shorts and a cropped tank to the beach. The key to looking great is to feel great. And, it’s no secret that when you look and feel great that you will radiate confidence, which will surely get you noticed at the beach.
Of course, the majority of us enjoy laying in the sand so we can leave with some color. However, it is super important that the number one product you put on is SPF (and be sure the re-apply!). If you’re insecure about a breakout, then go ahead and apply a tinted moisturizer that has SPF in it already. This will protect your skin from the sun and cover any imperfections.
Now go enjoy the beach, beautiful.
