5 Fun Things To Do With Your Friends
You know the drill with adult friendships. You agree to meet up and then postpone it until kingdom come because somehow or rather, something comes up and it’s not the meetup. It’s never easy to set aside a day when all your friends can readily spend time with each other, but when there comes a day that everyone can finally join in, you’d want to make the most of it! Here’re five fun things to make some good memories out of your next day out with your friends.
DIY Spa Day
‘Treat yo self’ is the best bunch of words strung together on god’s green earth. And what better way to spend time with your good friends by treating each other to some TLC? Give each other manicures! Try your hand at some do-it-yourself facials and exfoliates. Try out new hairstyles. Pinterest boards galore are filled with plenty of ideas for facials and nail colours. It’s a good way to bond too, and really catch up with new fashion trends and experimentation.
Take a Hike
The hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle can really do a number on you and your friends, so why not escape into a real one instead? Head to your nearby park and look up some hiking trails, and take a leisurely stroll through the forest, and breathe in the fresh air. Mother nature really is a soothing balm for the soul. A solid three to four-hour hike is a good way to reconnect with your friends and nature. In fact, numerous studies have shown that the Japanese practice of ‘forest bathing’, that is shinrin-yoku in Japanese, is the act of walking through the forest to attain some health benefits.
If the last time you played a board game was at that sleepover you had in middle school, it’s high time you brought out that scrabble board. In fact, board games are beginning to make a comeback, so jump on the band wagon and take your friends on that trip down memory lane. Not into Scrabble? Play some of the classics like Monopoly (no guarantees your friendship survives that one though!) or Life. Or even good ol’ Cluedo. You can hang out and play all sorts of games with large groups or small ones.
Refresh Your Wardrobe
Go on that shopping spree. Indulge in a little retail therapy with your friends and help them soothe those tired wardrobes. Who better to tell you if that new copper coloured nail polish you got goes with those burgundy stilettos if not your best buds? They might even introduce you to some new articles of clothing you wouldn’t have considered trying on had you gone by yourself.
Go to the Park
This is a generation that spends way too much time indoors. If it’s not at your work desk, it’s at home lazing on the couch catching up with RuPaul’s Drag Race, binging on nachos. Get you and your friends outdoors and into the sun! Get everyone to bring some food and drinks, and pack yourself some fancy meats, a decent looking mat, bring out that bottle of wine you’ve been hiding away in kitchen, and go on out there and embrace the warmth of the sun! You’ll get yourself some vitamin D in the process and people watching is always fun to make stories to.
